Flight

We flew into
The Munich airport
On a direct flight
From New York,
And flew out
In a Mercedes Benz taxi.
We hit over 240
Kilometers per hour
As we left the airport.
I had never even been
In a car that could go
That fast before,
And certainly had never been
Anywhere where
That kind of speeding
Was allowed.
We were running parallel
To a runway
And managed to outrun
A jet which was
Accelerating for take off.
I suppose the driver
Was trying to show off
The car’s remarkable
Engineering pedigree,
But he managed
To scare the wits out of us
In the process.
