The Duomo Perspective

We arrived in Florence
During one of the hottest
Summers on record,
And the sun and heat
Punished us unmercifully
As we tried to
Explore the city.
We managed to climb
To the top of the dome
Of Duomo,
The fourth-largest cathedral
In the world,
Which overlooks the city.
We were rewarded
With not only a spectacular view,
But that also turned out
To be coolest,
Most comfortable spot
In all of Florence
That particular day.
The climb was definitely
Worth it.
