Blinders

Our two daughters
Occasionally
Felt they had to
Take things
Into their own hands,
So to speak.
During a vacation
To Italy
When they were
Ten and eleven
Years old respectively,
When we visited a beach
In northern Sardinia.
We quickly discovered
Many of the Europeans
Consider clothing optional.
We spread a blanket
On the sand
And were relaxing,
Enjoying the sun
When a couple
Gorgeous young ladies
Adopted a spot
Next to us,
And proceeded to disrobe.
The kids decided
They needed to protect
Cecilia’s interests,
And teamed up
To cover my eyes
With their hands,
Much to everyone’s amusement.
