A Very Strange Job

One of the strangest jobs
I ever heard of
Was featured on the cover of my
Materials testing magazine.
Apparently there is a woman
Who has made a career
Out of pulling eyes off
Teddy bears and other toys.
She carefully measures
The difficulty she has
To predict what might come loose
And get stuck in a baby’s throat.
Now I am glad there are
People who do that,
But I have a hard time imagining
Doing that for a living.
How many of us have had a child
Adept at dismembering toys
And failed to appreciate
The potential career that might be?
