Kaleidoscope

With only the slightest
Twist or turn
Of the kaleidoscope,
I begin to see
Aspects of my life
I never noticed before.
I gaze in wonder
At the vibrant colors
And ever changing
Patterns which emerge.
The possible points of view
Are mind boggling.
I look at things
I thought I knew,
And nothing is
As it seemed.
I was not as innocent
As I once believed
Nor as guilty
As I had feared.
I am simply me,
Sifting through
My memories
Being astounded
By what I now see.
