Zombie Queen

She works the day shift
As a waitress
At the local greasy spoon
And attends school at night.
She sleeps in cracks of time
Whenever she is not working,
Going to class,
Or studying for exams,
Which leaves her
In a zombie state
Most of the time.
Her life is on hold
While she sleepwalks
Through her day,
But that is the price
She is willing to pay
For the chance
To someday have a life.
