Transcending Luck

Adventure calls
To those of us
Who aspire
To more than
The tedium
Of a safe,
Boringly predictable,
But lifeless job.
We need a challenge
Worthy of our time,
A cause bigger
Than ourselves,
And most of all,
A purpose
To our madness.
We may get lucky
A time or two,
And stumble
Into something
Innately exciting,
But even that
Wears thin
Over time.
Luck alone
Will not take us
Where we
Want to go.
We have to
Transcend luck,
And learn
To live beyond
Our circumstances,
To create a world
Where anything
Is possible,
And where
Life occurs
As one miracle
After another.
Only then
Will we have a life
Truly worth living.
