The Jellyfish

It’s a story
Often told
About a princess
And a toad.
The lonely princess,
Having given up
On the men
Of the kingdom,
Must search
High and low
For a suitable mate.
She usually finds him
Hopping around
And playing the field,
And acting very much
Like a toad,
But a single kiss from her,
And that one-day toad
Becomes a prince.
As the fairytale goes,
They then live happily
Ever after,
But all to often,
Her gallant prince
Changes back
Into a loathsome toad,
And no kiss
From that foolish princess
Will ever change him
Back again.
