Island Girl

She was a slender
Polynesian beauty
With long, black hair
A Mona Lisa smile
And brown eyes
That sparkled.
She was a Tahitian dancer
Gifted with
An exotic Island charm,
And she was
Stealing my heart
And blowing my mind.
She painted an almost
Irresistible picture
Of an island paradise
With an easy,
Blissful lifestyle,
Living on the beach
Under the coconut palms,
Fishing in the harbor,
And swimming in the sea
Without a care in the world.
She tantalized me
With her smile,
And offered me a vision
Of gentle island serenity
With a promise of
All the love I needed.
Such a carefree existence
Was a bittersweet dream
That weighed heavily
On my mind,
But I had other priorities
And could not leave.
