The Chocolate Milk Cow

She was three years old
When the family
Made the trip
To visit grandfather’s
Dairy farm.
The children were taken
Down to see the cows
Being milked,
And each one was given
A cup of fresh milk
From one of the cows.
Knowing how much
The little girl liked
Chocolate milk,
Grandfather secretly put
Some chocolate powder
In the bottom of the cup,
Before filling it,
Then gave the girl her cup
Of fresh chocolate milk.
The little girl fell in love
With her chocolate milk cow,
And insisted they take
The cow home with them.
That wouldn't have worked
Very well with the rest
Of the neighboring
Apartment dwellers,
But she was reminded
Of the tantrum she threw
Numerous times
Over the ensuing years.
