He really is a nice guy,
Kind and considerate,
Popular and congenial,
The kind of person
People like to have around,
But his act
Is a two edged sword.
It is based on a fear
Of being straight with others,
Or confronting them
When confrontation is needed.
It robs him of the ability
To be authentic
Which costs him
The intimacy he seeks.
It also leaves him vulnerable
To being taken advantage of,
A definite liability
When it comes to business.
It is a way of being
That has been a curse
As well as a blessing.
