Sexual Politics

In the sexual realm
We are often
Left to interpret what
Our partner means
When he or she
Doesn’t respond,
Or isn’t in the mood
For having sex.
When one party
Is more desirous
Of intercourse
Than the other,
And the other person
Refuses their overtures,
That person is apt
To feel rejected.
If the other person
Acquiesces or gives in
Against their will,
It is bound to be
A less than
Enjoyable experience,
And a breeding ground
For resentment.
Somehow we need to be
Considerate of each other,
Especially in
The bedroom setting.
