Slow Children at Play

Whenever I spot
The street sign
That says,
“Caution,
Slow Children
At Play.”
I have to wonder
About the
City official
Who diagnosed
Their problem.
I always
Look around
Half expecting
To see some
Obvious idiots
Running about,
But as far as
I can tell,
They are just
Normal kids doing
The stupid things
Kids sometimes do.
Imagine the stigma
Of being labeled slow,
And having the whole
Community know.
No wonder
They tend to
Dart out into
The middle
Of the street!
They have to prove
How fast they are.
