What does it take to have a
Substantive conversation
With the ones we love?
Does a trauma have to happen
Before we make the effort
To speak our heart
And say what is on our mind?
So many times
After something happens,
We lament most
That which we did not say.
Seize the opportunity now
Before it is too late.
Let no moment ride
Without having said
All that needs to be said.
