Rebellion in the Ranks

He was a drill sergeant
In the Army
And he ran his home
As strict
As any unit in the field.
His wife and children
Were commanded
To toe the line,
To march in formation,
And to maintain
A stiff upper lip
While doing it.
Not even the slightest transgression
Of his orderly world
Was tolerated,
And has discipline was harsh.
Each of them chaffed
Under his iron-handed rule,
And one-by-one,
All eventually rebelled.
