Every now and then,
Mystical moments
Of incredible joy
And contentment
Overwhelm my defenses,
And the world
Takes on the golden hue
Of perfection.
For that solitary moment,
I am at peace
With life exactly as it is
And exactly as it isn’t.
The steam is stolen
From all my complaints,
And the irritations I had
Moments before
Dissolve into thin air,
Leaving me in awe
Of the beauty of the universe
Around me.
Call it rapture if you will,
But it leaves me
Wondering if the magic
And mystery
Of that moment can be
Captured and tamed.
Is it possible for me,
A mere mortal,
To seize that euphoric state
And hold on to it
For an extended time,
If not forever?
I sense this is a question
Worth pondering!
