The Invisible Woman

She was remarkably adept
At staying below
Everyone’s radar screen,
Of remaining invisible
And anonymous
In the midst of a crowd.
She sought obscurity,
And we unknowingly
Picked up her signals
And granted her wish.
She was one of those people
Who no one recalls
Having been there,
Yet she was there all along.
For all ostensible purposes,
She was the Invisible Woman.
