Elemental Simplicity

I have come to believe
Life isn’t nearly
As complicated
As it seems.
The rules by which
It operates
Are intrinsically obvious
And straight forward,
Though it may take me
A lifetime
To comprehend
Their simplicity.
There is nothing
Inherently difficult
Except that my thinking
Makes it so.
When challenges occur
And the going
Gets rough,
I invariably find
The biggest obstacle
Is me,
And only when
I step out
Of the way,
Can I see
How to get
The job done.
Ultimately the complexities
I encounter
Are my own invention
And little more.
