He was adamant,
And a bit self-righteous,
That he could see the world
With absolute clarity,
And that how he saw it
Was exactly the way it was.
There was no need,
As far as he was concerned,
Even to consider
Anything but his own
Cyclopian point of view.
It never dawned on him
That there might be
Other ways of seeing things
Equally as valid as his own.
He was given two eyes,
But only one point of view,
And with that
He charged forward
Like a rouge elephant
Trampling anyone in his path
With the audacity
To suggest that there might be
More to the picture
Than what he was seeing.
