It’s a little place,
Tiny by city standards,
But it has a little bit
Of everything
And a whole lot of nothing.
It serves the local community
And the few passers by
Who occasionally stop in.
It’s more for convenience
Than anything else,
For those who don’t want to
Drive all the way into town.
It’s maybe a bit ramshackle
But it has one thing
Those big city stores don’t,
It has the personality,
Plus the friendly smile
And lighthearted banter
Of the man
Behind the counter.
